You came with your silly smile, desperate to love me,
you came with patience and delicacy saying that you would wait for my soul to rejoin where it had been lost,
you came without demands or orders,
you just came with your tired arms and sat down to wait,
To wait that the rain that hid my tears would pass, that the autumn leaves that hid the sadness of my hair would go away, that my eyes would learn to see another colour that wasn’t spring, you waited for the summer to make me sweat the intoxication.
Because you came with no other reason than when you whisper you love me that I wouldn’t turn and run,
you came with the intention that my hands will call you when the world was a city without sleep and it will need the shelter of the church,
You came with the desire that with you I would not know of shame and would undo myself in words that should never be spoken,
You came with eyes that wanted to see how I afford the weakness to ask for your help because I trusted you and I was dying on you,
you came believing that with time and patience my abused heart would say goodbye to everyone who had changed me,
but,
you came a few days too late.
